Dr.Ahmed Alafandi is the Dean of Terry Fox College of Sport Science and Business, Canada. He is an expert in sport management and sport marketing. Dr. Alafandi taught undergraduate and graduate sports management courses in Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and Canada. Additionally, He worked for Imam Abdulrahman Bin Faisal University in Saudi Arabia for five years as the director of quality assurance and academic programme development. In the context of sport business, Dr. Ahmed also investigated corporate governance, strategic management, corporate sponsorship, and ambush marketing. He has several publications in renowned international journals.Dr. Alafandi has spoken at several sport management conferences around the world, and he was awarded the Alberto Madella Scholarship Fund from the European Association of Sport Management in 2013. Furthermore, Dr. Alafandi has extensive sports practitioner experience, having worked on several projects for the Canadian Soccer Association, Paralympic Canada, and Commonwealth Games Canada while studying at the University of Ottawa in Canada. Dr. Alafandi's teaching philosophy reflects his firm belief in the importance of integrating theory and practise. He believes in active learning and prefers student/professor-centered teaching, which encourages both students and professors to learn. He enjoys camping and sports in general, but especially football (soccer), tennis, and swimming.
